January begins with the Sun in the hard working sign of Capricorn. With New Year’s on the horizon, it’s a good time to work diligently on any New Year’s resolutions. The Sun is in Capricorn until January 19th. Use this earth energy to ground any of your aspirations. It is a perfect time to look for a new job, especially with Saturn now being in the Sign of Capricorn as well. With Saturn in Capricorn, we are beginning a new two year chapter about work and productivity. Think about what projects you’d like to work on and get them done. And to make New Year’s day even more potent for manifesting your desires, on New Year’s day there is a Full Moon at 11 degrees Cancer. Mars will be traveling close to Jupiter during this time, so it’s possible you can get really lucky with whatever project you are working on. Venus in Capricorn is also near the Sun, adding an extra benefic to the energy in the sky. The Sun won’t be too far from Pluto, asking you to come into your own sense of what makes you feel powerful. Mercury will be in Sagittarius, so try as hard as you can to focus on one thing for now. Mercury in Sagittarius tends to be overly-scattered, so be aware that you need to concentrate your energy hard to be productive. Then on January 2nd, Uranus goes direct. This means that we have more energy pushing us to move forward. Uranus symbolizes where you need to rebel and break free/declare independence. So focus your energy on working hard but working for freedom at the same time. Mercury enters Capricorn on January 11th, so it will be a lot easier to stay focused and stable after then.
On January 16th, we have a New Moon in Capricorn. This is also the beginning of the eclipse period. The eclipse period begins two weeks before the eclipses and two weeks after them. During the eclipse period, things can get a little crazy. On one hand, we can be left in the dark about certain things. Things can happen behind our backs and we would not know. On the other hand, the eclipses bring certain things to light. Situations reveal themselves in ways that we have never seen them before. So watch what you say and who you say it to. The New Moon will be at 26 degrees Capricorn. Venus will again be near the Sun, giving extra blessings as she goes. Mars will be trine to Chiron, allowing yourself to heal from any lingering situations that may still be hurting you.
On January 17th, Venus enters Aquarius. Then on January 19th, the Sun enters Aquarius. This is an excellent time to detach from any mental baggage that no longer serves you. The Aquarian energy propels you to focus on the future and not the past. Especially with Venus in Aquarius, it is a great time to end a relationship that is no longer working. The Sun in Aquarius will make people value the time they have and they will use that time wisely. And on January 26th, Mars enters the sign of Sagittarius. Earlier this month, Mars was in Scorpio. In Scorpio he is very focused, slowly making us obsess over what we need to get done. Mars in Sagittarius lightens up the energy a little bit, allowing us to allow ourselves to have a little bit more fun than we would normally have.
And finally on January 31st, we will have a Full Moon total lunar eclipse at 11 degrees Leo. The Moon will be right near the North Node in Leo, giving us insight on where we need to be moving forward in our lives. There’s an aspect of fate we will experience. Mercury will be at 29 degrees Capricorn, giving us a message about what we could be doing better. Neptune also will ask us about our dreams and what we need to do to accomplish them. The eclipse season will be in full swing until and during February.
