The Sun is in Aries for the beginning of the month until April 19th. The Sun in Aries has us feeling ambitious and excited. Spring in finally here. The flowers finally start to bloom. The trees have leaves again. We want to go out and experience life. We want to take action. It’s a time to take charge. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, so Aries season is naturally a “me first” kind of sign. So during this time, take some time out for you and what you want. Get a new haircut, start a new book, etc. Also remember that Aries is a fire element sign, so it’s great energy for a new workout routine.
However, we must also consider that Mercury is also retrograde until April 15th. Mercury retrograde can sometimes put a damper on things going forward. So be very diligent with whatever you do and realize that you may need to revise your strategy later on. That’s ok however because the Sun in Aries will make sure that you get to where you want to be. Mercury retrograde is a time to be very careful about not losing your cellphone, sending the wrong email to the wrong person, and miscommunication in general. Mercury is retrograde in Aries, so mistakes can be made by doing things too fast. Try to focus as much as you can, but remember that Mercury in Aries makes us think quickly, sometimes a bit too quickly. Once Mercury goes direct and then the Sun goes into Taurus, the energy will be a lot more grounded. The Sun in Taurus loves stability, so if things are moving too fast for you right now just hang tight because the fast forward button won’t be on forever.
On April 15th we also have a New Moon in Aries. So not only is Mercury going direct on that day, but we have a New Moon which gives us a clean slate. The New Moon is also right next to Uranus, the planet of chaos, change and sudden endings. So it is ideal to use the New Moon energy to liberate yourself from anything weighing you down. Mercury in Aries particularly fights for a free mind.
On April 17th, Chiron enters Aries. Chiron in Pisces was a closing energy for our sacred wound. Everyone has a wound/Chiron aspect somewhere in their chart, and the energy of transiting Chiron being in Pisces allowed us to heal from any old chapters. With Chiron now in Aries, we start a new beginning. How can you transform your pain into something productive? That will be the challenge of Chiron in Aries, Rest assured, this energy will give you a boost of energy to heal from the past.
Also on April 17th, Saturn goes retrograde. Saturn is the Lord of our karma story, so when he goes retrograde, he wants us to overlook our story and fix any flaws we have along the way. Saturn represents our life’s purpose, so Saturn retrograde will have you going over what you are doing with yourself and making sure you are on the right path. Also we have Pluto goes retrograde on April 22nd. Pluto represents where we have power and how we act on it. Pluto retrograde in Capricorn will make sure that we are doing the work that we are supposed to be doing.
On April 24th, Venus goes into Gemini. When Venus is in Taurus in the beginning of the month, Venus is in her prime. She loves being in the sign of Taurus. It’s a great time to learn how to cook! And do other earthly things. Once she gets into Gemini, she becomes a social butterfly. And finally, we have a Full Moon in Scorpio on April 29th. The Scorpio Full Moon is said to be the most powerful Full Moon of the year, so make sure you do a prosperity ritual to get what you want.
