This morning I was inspired by these words from Maya Angelou’s facebook page…
” You should be angry. You must not be bitter. Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. It doesn’t do anything to the object of its displeasure. So use that anger. You write, paint, dance, march, and vote it. You do everything about it. You talk it. Never stop talking it.”
This election has been an emotional roller coaster. There was a lot of negativity thrown at each of the presidential nominee candidates. All the negativity that was going on during the election presidential campaign is over and I feel relief, angry, and depress all at once. I know most of the population feel the same as I do and most of the population feel the total opposite.
In spite of everything we can’t turn angry into bitterness. We could turn our anger into something positive. Just like Maya Angelou says, ” we could dance it.” How you ask? The answer is to celebrate because we final have an elected president. Yes I know some of us can’t celebrate because the person we voted for did not win but look in the bright-side we can vote again in four years for the candidate that would fight for women rights, minority, working families, and bring more jobs to the states. For now we just have to have an open mind and give the elected president a chance to lead. Don’t forget having a open mind and giving a chance means to give up the fight. No we should continue marching, continue fighting for what is right because it is worth it.
Remember, march and fight in peace, not in violence. Get to know your local councilmen, senate, congressmen, assemblymen, mayor and governor and tell them the issues that is going on in your community. Trust me they would listen and take your concerns seriously. It is their job to do so. If they do not listen or take any action then they not doing their job.
DANCE, MARCH, VOTE,
Never stop talking it.
